Introduction to machine elements covers mechanical machine elements. The course begins with methods for the general design of components and their sizing under stationary and non-stationary loads. After that, specific mechanical machine elements are considered, starting with simple elements. From connections, the course then moves on to springs, dampers, couplings and bearings and finally seals. An insight into simple spur gears concludes the overview.
