Additive manufacturing of electric motors – Development of a manufacturing process to reduce manufacturing time and optimize motor characteristics
Due to the wide range of applications in households and industry, electric motors are of great relevance both in the small power range and up to several megawatts. In order to ensure the sustainable use of electric motors in the present and future, it is important to optimize the motor properties and reduce the manufacturing time. By exploiting these potentials, the use of additive manufacturing technologies offers the possibility of optimizing the motor properties in a targeted manner. The aim is to develop a hybrid manufacturing process in order to increase efficiency and power density and to shorten the manufacturing time.
