Die additive Fertigung von Produkten wird im Kontext der zunehmenden Digitalisierung der Fertigung, dem steigenden Kostendruck, dem Vorteil der werkzeuglosen Fertigung, den hohen Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten sowie durch einen steigenden Bedarf an Kundenindividualisierung zu einem wichtigen Wettbewerbsfaktor. Die sich hieraus ergebenden Potentiale für die Gestaltung additiv gefertigter Produkte werden bisher insbesondere bei der Lösungssuche aber noch nicht systematisch ausgenutzt. details

The Methodological Product Development team offers assistance in solving such problems by giving methodological support for the development of innovative products. The focus is Hygenic Design and Robust Design. details

Mechatronic Machine Elements

The goal of the research group Mechatronic Machine Elements is to integrate sensing, actuating and information processing functions into machine elements and mechanical components. These Mechatronic Machine Elements can be used in conventional control systems or in highly integrated cyber-physical systems to measure process variables close to their origin, e.g. in manufacturing processes. details

Smart Bearings

The smart bearings team wants to add the signal and energy transmission function into bearings and investigates which modifications are necessary to realise this goal. Moreover sensory features are pushed be implemented to realise the functional extension of near process data acquisition. Therefore, methodical tools for technology integration are compiled and carried out experimentally. details
